Home Front Command Issues Urgent Water Conservation Notice

The Home Front Command has issued an important notice regarding a severe malfunction in the national water desalination system. This issue prompted an urgent assessment by officials from the Ramat Negev Regional Council, Mekorot (Israel's national water company), and the Water Authority. The meeting aimed to manage the region's water resources and address supply disruptions.

As a result of the assessment, immediate steps have been taken to reduce the consumption of potable water. Agricultural consumers in the area have been instructed to cease all irrigation for several hours. Residents of the council have also been urged to limit their use of water for gardens and public spaces in the coming hours.

The IDF Spokesperson's office also released a statement regarding important updates for the upcoming hours. Officials from the Ramat Negev Regional Council clarified that, at this stage, there is no anticipated impact on drinking water supply to households. The primary challenge currently lies with the agricultural sector, and all relevant parties are collaborating to restore normal operations and ensure a continuous and stable supply of drinking water for residents.

The council's spokesperson stated they are in constant communication with national professional bodies and will continue to update the public as the situation develops and the system recovers.
