Palestinian Workers Found Hidden in Truck Undercarriage During Escape Attempt
Border Police officers at the Mitzpe Yitzhak checkpoint near Jerusalem apprehended 18 undocumented Palestinian laborers who were concealed within a hidden compartment in the undercarriage of a truck. The incident began when the truck arrived at the checkpoint for inspection. Shortly after being stopped, the driver fled the scene, driving recklessly, damaging checkpoint infrastructure, and colliding with two civilian vehicles.
Border Police forces pursued the truck, eventually locating it in the village of al-Muntar. The driver escaped on foot, and a search was initiated for him. During their inspection of the truck, officers discovered a double-walled compartment in its undercarriage, where the 18 individuals were found hidden.
All 18 undocumented laborers were arrested and taken for further questioning and investigation. The Border Police stated they would continue operations to prevent the smuggling of illegal laborers and maintain public security.
