Jerusalem Teen Arrested for Animal Cruelty After Camera Footage
Surveillance cameras in Jerusalem's Old City captured footage of a kitten being abused, leading to the arrest of a 15-year-old suspect. The incident, which occurred on Bab al-Huta Street near the Lions' Gate, was identified by observers from the "Matbat 2000" control center. Police and Border Police officers from the David precinct and the Old City battalion were dispatched to locate the minor.
The suspect, a local resident, was apprehended after being identified from the surveillance footage. He was taken for questioning on suspicion of hitting and kicking the kitten. Following his interrogation, the teenager was brought before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court.
The court ordered the suspect released to house arrest. The investigation file has been transferred to the Israeli Police's prosecution unit for review and determination of further legal proceedings.
