Ahmad Abd Skara Killed in Jaffa After Being Run Over and Shot at Close Range

Ahmad Abd Skara, 29, was murdered in Jaffa on Jerusalem Boulevard after being struck by a vehicle and then shot at close range in the upper body. The incident occurred late Thursday night, and despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Wolfson Hospital in Holon. His family remains in shock, struggling to comprehend the sudden loss and the circumstances leading to the killing.

Ahmad's father, a known social activist, expressed disbelief that such violence would reach his family, noting the growing danger in Arab communities. He described the murder as devastating, saying, "We lost our son in moments, and the shock is immense." He also voiced concern over the ongoing crime wave, which he called a spreading disease, and questioned whether the police would bring the perpetrators to justice or if suspects would be released quickly.

Police responded with a large deployment, conducting extensive searches and investigations at the scene. The Tel Aviv district commander, Chief Superintendent Haim Saragroff, held a situation assessment at the site. Since the start of the year, 164 people have been killed in the Arab community, with eight murders recorded in the past 49 days, indicating a recent decline in homicide rates over the last two months.

Ahmad's father highlighted a generational shift, noting that younger people often deny conflicts exist until tragedy strikes. He hopes the severe crimes will end soon, as they impact everyone in the community deeply. The investigation into Ahmad's murder is ongoing, with arrests reportedly made but details remain unclear.
