Jewish Family Finds Antisemitic Note in Luggage During Flight to Israel

A Jewish family traveling from Seattle to Israel discovered a handwritten antisemitic note inside their suitcase, reading "To hell with Israel." The incident occurred during their journey on August 22, involving Alaska Airlines flight AS583 from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Los Angeles, followed by El Al flight LY106 to Tel Aviv. It remains unclear at which airport or by whom the note was placed in the luggage.

The case was exposed by the antisemitism monitoring organization StopAntisemitism, which called for a thorough investigation by authorities and the airlines involved. A relative of the family shared the incident on Instagram, warning that unauthorized access to luggage by airport staff poses a serious security risk that could lead to dangerous outcomes. Complaints have been filed with the Seattle and Los Angeles airports, Alaska Airlines, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Embassy in Israel.
