Blue and White Leader Gantz Rejects Offers to Withdraw from Elections for Future Roles

Senior figures within Israel's opposition bloc, known as the Change Camp, reportedly offered Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz a series of future positions outside the government and Knesset if he agreed to withdraw from the upcoming elections. These offers, made both directly and through intermediaries, were motivated by concerns that Gantz might struggle to pass the electoral threshold based on current polling. Additionally, the bloc aimed to redirect Blue and White's significant financial resources toward other allied parties, such as Hili Tropper's faction.

Despite these proposals, Gantz declined all offers. A senior bloc member explained the gesture as an attempt to allow Gantz, a former IDF Chief of Staff and Defense Minister, to retire with dignity, lamenting his refusal. Blue and White responded by denying any such offer had been made and reaffirmed Gantz's commitment to uniting the Third Camp parties and forming a broad Zionist government capable of addressing national challenges and advancing peace.

Earlier, Gantz himself rejected calls for his withdrawal, stating that demands for him to step aside to avoid "wasting votes" were illegitimate. He emphasized his dedication to leading the Third Camp initiative, citing his experience and role in founding the bloc, and declared firmly that he would not withdraw from the race.
