Neve Tzion Rabbis Inspect Kosher Slaughter Operation in South America

Rabbis from the Neve Tzion rabbinical court traveled to South America in recent days to supervise a glatt-kosher slaughter operation on behalf of the court’s chief rabbi, Rabbi Masoud Ben Shimon, the chief rabbi of Bnei Brak and head of Or HaTalmud yeshiva.

The delegation included Rabbi Yaakov Ben Shimon, son of the late Rabbi Shlomo Ben Shimon, former chief rabbi of Neve Tzion, a member of the Council of Torah Sages and of the Great Rabbinical Court, and Rabbi Yitzchak Zayat, described as the son-in-law of the late Rabbi Shalom Cohen. They closely monitored every stage of the slaughter, including knife checks and external and internal inspections, to ensure compliance with Neve Tzion’s strict standards.

According to the article, the court’s kosher procedures were established by the late Rabbi Shalom Cohen, with the goal of producing meat that is acceptable according to all opinions and stringencies. The visiting rabbis said they were impressed by the rigorous observance of the rules and by the expertise, piety, and care shown by the supervisors, slaughterers, and inspectors involved.

After returning, the rabbis briefed Rabbi Ben Shimon on the operation. Rabbi Yaakov Ben Shimon said, "Neve Tzion is truly a first-rank rabbinical court for the Torah community." Rabbi Ben Shimon expressed satisfaction with the report and praised the rabbis and all those working to protect high-level kosher standards for Torah-observant consumers.
