Truck Driver Suspected of Killing Elderly Gas Station Worker Faces Indictment

Israel’s prosecution has filed a notice ahead of an indictment against truck driver Michael Cohen, 46, of Haifa, who is suspected of causing the death of 82-year-old Nati Kamin at a gas station near Nir Banim junction, close to Kiryat Gat.

According to the suspicion, Cohen ran over Kamin, who worked at the gas station, after an argument broke out between them. Police also suspect Cohen drove the truck while under the influence of cannabis and was found in possession of drugs not for personal use.

The Ashkelon Magistrate’s Court extended Cohen’s remand by four days. The court said the required investigative steps since the last remand extension had been completed and that the reasonable suspicion against him had increased.
