Israeli Border Police Shoot Five Suspected Stone-Throwers During East Jerusalem UNRWA Site Evacuation

On Tuesday, Israeli Border Police operating in the West Bank shot and injured five suspects who were throwing stones from a rooftop during the evacuation of a site previously used by UNRWA in East Jerusalem. The incident occurred amid a joint operation involving Border Police, IDF soldiers, and police units from the Jerusalem district and the counter-terrorism unit Metpa. The forces identified the suspects on the roof and opened fire after assessing an immediate threat to their lives. Police confirmed the shooting was a response to the danger posed by the stone-throwers and stated that security forces will continue to act against individuals endangering civilians and personnel in the area. The operation was part of efforts to demolish the UNRWA compound in the nearby village of Kafr Aqab, close to Jerusalem.
