Israeli Forces Capture Suspect in West Bank Stabbing Attack on Haredi Youth

Israeli security forces arrested the suspect responsible for a stabbing attack on a 24-year-old Haredi man from Beitar Illit in the West Bank's Jordan Valley on Sunday morning. The victim was moderately injured in the village of Auja near Jericho after stopping for shopping. The assailant waited by the victim's car, attacked from behind, and stabbed him in the back while children were inside the vehicle. The attacker fled the scene immediately.

The arrest followed an extensive joint manhunt involving the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Shin Bet, and police, guided by precise intelligence shared by the Judea and Samaria Police District. The suspect was located and captured by IDF soldiers. During initial questioning at the scene, the suspect admitted to carrying out the attack. He was subsequently transferred for further joint investigation by Shin Bet and the Judea and Samaria police.

Following the stabbing, security forces deployed special units and the Air Force to assist in the search. Officials emphasized their commitment to apprehending anyone who harms or attempts to harm Israeli civilians or soldiers.

Later Sunday afternoon, another security incident occurred at Rimonim Square in the Binyamin Brigade area, where a terrorist attempted to seize a soldier's weapon. The soldier responded quickly, firing at and neutralizing the attacker.
