IDF Commandos Take Souvenirs From Luxury Hotel After Lebanon Operation, Investigation Launched

Following a recent IDF commando operation in southern Lebanon, reservist soldiers took various items from an abandoned luxury hotel, including spa robes, slippers, soaps, and shampoo bottles. According to testimonies, many soldiers took the spa robes and slippers as souvenirs from the fighting in Lebanon. However, these items were not taken home but stored in one of the company’s equipment containers.

The commandos received significant praise for their role in combat in the western sector and for uncovering a large underground drone airport beneath Majdal Zoun, a complex they worked to destroy. Despite the operational success, the IDF expressed disapproval upon learning that some soldiers had taken personal items from the hotel. Consequently, the brigade commanders initiated an investigation into the matter.

The incident highlights the tension between operational achievements and military discipline, as the IDF seeks to maintain order following the high-profile mission in Lebanon.
