Red Star and Partizan Battle for Former Maccabi Tel Aviv Center
The center who played last year in yellow is attracting interest from two Serbian powerhouses.
Partizan Belgrade and Red Star are two of the biggest rivals in world basketball, and beyond their battles on the court, they now appear to be competing for signings as well. According to reports in Serbia, the two teams are fighting over none other than Trevion Williams, a former Maccabi Tel Aviv player who played in Israel last season and did not particularly impress.
This season, the big center began at Bahcesehir and posted excellent numbers. He became a starter for the Turkish team, averaging 11.1 points and 8.6 rebounds in 21 EuroCup games. As recalled, before joining Maccabi he played for Alba Berlin, where he also stood out.
These days, the center's team is playing Beşiktaş in the playoff semifinal series, which is tied at 2:2. Tonight, Wednesday, they will meet in the decisive game for a place in the final against Fenerbahçe.
