Lindsey Graham's Sister Wins South Carolina Republican Senate Primary with Trump’s Support

Darline Graham Grooms Nordon, sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, secured a decisive victory in the South Carolina Republican special Senate primary on August 30, winning 52% against 48% in a runoff against conservative Congressman Ralph Norman. This win, following her initial 32.7% share in the first round on August 11, marks a significant political success for former President Donald Trump, who endorsed her candidacy to fill the seat vacated by her brother's sudden death. Trump publicly urged her to run for a full term and backed her throughout the campaign, despite criticism from some Republican activists over her lack of prior political experience.

Appointed in July to complete Lindsey Graham’s term, Darline Graham Nordon became the first woman to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate. After her victory, she expressed gratitude to Trump, her family, and supporters, emphasizing her commitment to fight for conservative values, protect South Carolina, and maintain a strong America.
