Paralympic Judo Silver Medalist Battles Online Bullying on TikTok

Lidor Friedman, a 17.5-year-old Paralympic judo silver medalist, opened up about the severe online bullying he faces due to his cerebral palsy during a live interview on Israel's Channel 14 morning show. Born with CP Diplegia, Friedman shared how TikTok viewers have mocked his walking and disability, with no one intervening during the live attacks. He emphasized the need for societal awareness and support, stating, "Today it's me, tomorrow it could be someone else. Where is society to stop this?"

Friedman detailed his medical condition, explaining that despite his mobility challenges, he leads an independent life and actively fights to bring visibility to disabilities often overlooked. His determination stems from doctors' early predictions that he would be wheelchair-bound for life, but after complex surgery and rehabilitation, he learned to walk and began judo training at age four.

His talent was recognized in 2017 by former national coach Oren Samdeja, leading to international success including silver medals at the 2022 and 2024 World Championships and the 2025 European Championships in the 66 kg category. During the interview, social media influencer Yoni David offered to collaborate with Friedman to raise awareness among his 200,000 followers, an offer Friedman gratefully accepted.

Friedman concluded with a heartfelt message thanking Channel 14 for giving him a platform, lamenting that other channels have ignored his story, and vowing to continue fighting for the visibility of people with disabilities.
