Former Check Point Executive Unveils NewCore at $300 Million Valuation

With Black Hat less than two months away, more previously hidden cybersecurity startups are stepping forward. After Yossi Torati revealed A Security last week, serial entrepreneur Zohar Alon disclosed NewCore on Monday, a new identity-management cybersecurity company that aims to challenge the CyberArk and Palo Alto Networks combination, as well as Microsoft and Okta, in enterprise identity.

NewCore said it raised $66 million in two rounds last year, including a $16 million seed round led by Cyberstarts and Index in February 2025, and a further $50 million round with Evolution participating. Sources familiar with the company said the latest financing valued it at about $300 million. Backers also include several prominent Israeli cyber founders and investors: Assaf Rappaport, Ofer Ben Nun, Ofir Erlich and Yotam Segev.

The company was founded in 2025 by Alon, who was among Check Point's earliest employees, along with Amichai Neiderman, a former Unit 8200 security researcher and founder of Nym, and Erez Yarkoni, formerly CIO of T-Mobile and Telstra. NewCore now has more than 60 employees in LandMark 2 in Sarona and in the United States.

Alon said the market is increasingly vulnerable because identity systems have moved from corporate networks to the cloud and are now exposed to heavy attacks, especially as AI agents need organizational access. He argues the industry needs a new architecture built for this era. He also said he does not envision AI agents receiving permissions without human involvement. Cyberstarts partner Lior Simon said NewCore is building identity as if cybersecurity experts had designed it from the start. Alon joined Check Point in 1997 as employee No. 50, later founded Dome9, sold it to Check Point in 2018 for $180 million, left Check Point in 2021, and then joined Cyberizon as vice president before starting NewCore with Neiderman and Yarkoni ahead of the Palo Alto Networks and CyberArk merger announcement.
