Netanyahu Praises Trump’s Unprecedented Economic Sanctions Against Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for announcing a sweeping economic offensive against Iran. Netanyahu tweeted that Iran and its supporters are justly paying a heavy price for their aggression. This statement followed U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s declaration of an imminent "economic D-Day" targeting Iran, set to take effect the next morning.

Mnuchin detailed that the sanctions would focus on approximately 60 entities, individuals, and vessels linked to Iran, concentrating on five key sectors: digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping. The measures include sanctions against a complex network of intermediary companies and shadow fleet vessels operating across the UAE, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Switzerland, and Europe.

The Trump administration also plans to impose secondary sanctions on countries and organizations continuing trade with Iran, potentially revoking general licenses that previously allowed financial transactions with Tehran. Trump himself posted on Truth Social declaring, "IRAN IS COMPLETELY COLLAPSING!!!" Mnuchin emphasized that Iran is at a maximum point of vulnerability after Trump dismantled much of its military capabilities and nuclear program.
