Jerusalem Faction Issues Unusual Warning Styled Like IDF Evacuation Maps

The extremist factions in the ultra-Orthodox Torah world have decided to escalate their psychological warfare and their campaign against drafting yeshiva students, using a practice well known to the Israeli public from the IDF evacuation procedures in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

The "Committee to Save the Torah World," the body leading the Jerusalem Faction protests, published an unprecedented warning flyer addressed to residents of the Dan region and central Israel, designed exactly like the evacuation maps published by the IDF spokesperson in Arabic, and featuring a huge red circle marking the transportation "danger zone" that will be paralyzed in the coming days. Under the headline "Residents of the Center, pay attention!" the organizers warn the general public of planned massive blockades, and say that in the coming days there will be a protest and the area will be blocked to traffic because of the continued arrest of yeshiva students and the persecution of the Torah world. The red map circulated by the extremists shows that they are targeting all of Israel's most critical transportation arteries, with Ben Gurion Airport at the center of the red circle, alongside the main traffic routes, Highway 1, Highway 6, Highway 40 and Highway 443, as well as major cities such as Lod, Ramla, Shoham, and the outskirts of Rishon LeZion and Petah Tikva.

These blockade threats and the sophisticated use of warning maps come against the backdrop of peak tensions between the extremist factions and the security establishment. As was recently revealed, the Shin Bet's Jewish Division has gone into action and is conducting surveillance and intelligence gathering on the leaders of these protests, following the "pogrom" incidents and the attempted break-in to the home of Deputy President of the Supreme Court Justice Noam Solberg, as well as break-ins at the homes of senior IDF officers.

Police are now preparing with reinforced forces ahead of the promised protest days, understanding that an attempt to block Ben Gurion Airport and Highway 1 during wartime could lead to especially severe and violent clashes between the protesters and law enforcement, as well as angry drivers who may find themselves trapped in traffic jams.
