Apple Plans iPhone 18 Pro Price Hike After Recent Price Cut in Israel

Apple recently instructed its importers in Israel to reduce prices of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max by $90, resulting in a local price drop of approximately 320 shekels (270 shekels in Eilat). For example, the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max price fell from 4,999 shekels to 4,679 shekels, and the iPhone 17 Pro of the same capacity dropped from 4,599 shekels to 4,279 shekels. However, shortly after this price cut, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Apple is preparing to increase prices for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models, expected to be unveiled next month.

According to the report, the iPhone 18 Pro could start at $1,199 in the United States, which is $100 more than the iPhone 17 Pro, marking about a 9% increase. This price hike is attributed to rising costs of memory and storage components. Apple is also reportedly monitoring similar moves by Samsung and Google, which have raised prices of their flagship devices by roughly $100. Gurman suggests the price increase will be relatively moderate compared to the component cost surge, with Apple absorbing some of the additional expenses.

No official Israeli pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro has been announced yet, so the local price impact remains uncertain. Apple has not confirmed the new prices, and the reported $1,199 figure applies to the U.S. market, with prices likely varying internationally. This situation creates an unusual scenario for Israeli consumers: the current iPhone 17 Pro just became cheaper, while the next generation may come with a higher price tag. Apple is expected to reveal the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max next month.
