Israeli Rabbi Appeals for Aid to Support Mother of Six Including Two Disabled Children Ahead of Daughter’s Wedding

Rabbi Eliyahu Man recently issued a heartfelt public appeal regarding a severely struggling family he encountered. He described the mother as an extraordinary woman who abandoned material pursuits to live a life of holiness and simplicity, yet faces immense hardship after her husband completely severed ties with religion and their six children. The mother now single-handedly cares for all six children, including two who suffer from serious illnesses and disabilities.

The family’s joy was recently tempered by financial distress as one of the daughters became engaged and is preparing for her wedding. Unlike most brides in Israel, she lacks any funds to cover even the minimal wedding expenses. Rabbi Man emphasized the dire poverty and called on the public to assist the family, promising a spiritual blessing to anyone who donates 651 shekels, corresponding to the gematria of “poor orphan bride.”

A dedicated fund (number 5794) has been established at Kupat Ha'Ir to help the family and ensure the bride can marry with dignity. Rabbi Man’s appeal highlights the mother’s devotion and the urgent need for community support to alleviate their financial and emotional burdens.
