Israeli Police Uncover Apartment Housing Eight Illegal Palestinian Residents in Beersheba

Last week, Israeli police in Beersheba discovered an apartment in the city center housing eight illegal Palestinian residents from the West Bank. On August 16, officers from the Beersheba police station conducted an enforcement operation and found the eight individuals living in a divided apartment without legal residency permits. The police arrested the residents and transferred them for further investigation. Following the inquiry, the Southern District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Haim Bublil, signed an administrative closure order for the apartment, effective for 30 days, based on the district legal advisor's recommendation.

This incident follows a related case about two weeks earlier, when five illegal residents were found in a vehicle stopped at the Tarkumia checkpoint. Two of them were hiding in the trunk. The driver, a man in his 30s from Petah Tikva, was also arrested after it was discovered his driver's license was suspended. The vehicle was stopped during a routine enforcement check after arousing suspicion. All five illegal residents and the driver were detained and taken for further investigation at the police station.
