MK Avi Maoz Unveils Comprehensive Education Reform Plan as Future Education Minister

At a conference organized by the Noam party, attended by hundreds of branch leaders, activists, rabbis, local representatives, and Knesset candidates, party chairman MK Avi Maoz presented his strategic plan to transform Israel's education system. The event opened with remarks from Rabbi Yigal Kamintzky of Gush Katif and was moderated by media personality Yaki Edmacher. Maoz emphasized education as a supreme value essential for national resilience across security, economic, and social dimensions.

Maoz outlined a nine-principle reform agenda he intends to promote as Education Minister in the next government. Key principles include reducing class sizes by splitting overcrowded classes to enable personalized learning; shifting focus from achievement metrics to developing personality, life skills, independence, and excellence; and strengthening Jewish identity through expanded studies in Judaism, the Bible, and Israeli heritage. The plan also proposes restoring parental choice by opening enrollment zones, improving teacher status with higher salaries and better employment conditions, and ensuring equitable funding per child without sectoral discrimination.

Additional principles focus on accessibility and adaptation for students with disabilities, a comprehensive overhaul of special education including updated support and reimbursement for parental travel expenses, and full transparency for parents regarding classroom content and external organizations involved. The conference concluded with a panel featuring party candidates including Beersheba Deputy Mayor Shimon Tubul, retired Lt. Col. Eliyahu Leibman, Yiska Haimov, and Liora Alon, who shared their goals in employment, justice, education, and immigrant absorption.
