New Poll Shows Gadi Eizenkot's 'Yashar!' Leading Right-Wing Bloc Over Netanyahu's Likud
A new mandate poll released on Sunday by Kan News reveals a significant shift in the Israeli right-wing bloc if former military chief Ofir Winter runs, with an announcement expected tomorrow. According to the poll, Gadi Eizenkot's party "Yashar!" leads with 24 seats, followed by Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud at 22 seats. Other parties include "Together" with 14 seats, the Democrats with 10, Otzma Yehudit and Yisrael Beiteinu each with 9, United Torah Judaism with 8, Shas, Hadash-Ta'al, and Balad each with 7, and Religious Zionism and Ra'am with 5 seats each.
Regarding new parties, Winter's own party does not pass the electoral threshold if running alone, with its list composition still unknown. However, if Winter joins forces with Natali Shem Tov, Yosef Hadad, and Leli Deri, the combined party reaches 5 seats, crossing the threshold, while Religious Zionism fails to do so.
Netanyahu's weakness is also evident in the preferred prime minister question, where he loses to Eizenkot and, for the first time, also to Naftali Bennett. The poll also examined the recent disruptions at Ben Gurion Airport, with 43% of respondents blaming the airport workers' committee for the chaos, while 33% hold the government responsible. Among Likud voters, Transportation Minister Miri Regev receives mixed ratings, with 43% giving her a poor score and 41% a good one.
