Israel Bars Entry to Two Swedish MEPs Over Anti-Israel Activities
Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Population and Immigration Authority will deny entry to two members of the European Parliament, Jonas Sjöstedt and Hanna Gadín from Sweden. This decision was made at the request of Israeli Minister Gideon Sa'ar, citing their anti-Israel stance. The two MEPs had planned to visit the Palestinian Authority and were scheduled to arrive overnight.
According to the ministry, Sjöstedt and Gadín have consistently acted against Israel in recent years, including calls for international legal proceedings against Israeli individuals. They have also publicly spread false accusations against Israel, such as claims of genocide, deliberate starvation, and intentional harm to children and medical personnel.
The ban reflects Israel's firm position against individuals it views as promoting hostile narratives and legal actions targeting the country. The two politicians will not be allowed to enter Israel as part of this policy.
