Disabled Palestinian Attacked with Iron Rod by Settlers in Hebron Area

Saed Al-Amour, a disabled Palestinian from Masafer Yatta in the Hebron region, was assaulted on Saturday in his yard by two young settlers riding an ATV. The attackers, wearing kippahs and with faces uncovered, were caught on video hitting Saed with an iron rod after one initially tried to strike his 7-year-old son. Saed, who lost a leg in a previous attack when a settler shot him near his home, said he tried to protect his son before being pushed to the ground and struck repeatedly on his back and leg area.

Following the assault, the attackers fled, and Saed was evacuated to the hospital by Red Crescent personnel. Although he initially did not report the incident to the police due to past delays, an online complaint was later filed, leading to the arrest of the two suspects. Osama Mahamra, a Palestinian activist opposing settlements in southern Hebron, described the attack as part of a continuous series of assaults in the area, noting the proximity of the attackers’ location to previous incidents and their frequent presence in the area.
