Thousands Gather to Honor Rabbi Shimshon HaNehmani with Study and Celebration of 'Zera Shimshon'
Thousands convened to commemorate the yahrzeit of Rabbi Shimshon HaNehmani, author of the sacred book 'Zera Shimshon,' marking 247 years since his passing. The event featured a special study session titled 'His Lips Speak,' where participants studied the holy text in pairs, fulfilling the author's renowned promise and request. After hours of continuous learning, the entire book was completed, followed by a celebratory meal.
The gathering opened with remarks from Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Edelstein, a regular student of the book, who praised the sacred work. Rabbi Israel Zilberberg spoke about the deep spiritual connection between those who study 'Zera Shimshon' and its author, likening it to a father-son bond, and shared miraculous stories of salvation experienced by attendees. Rabbi David Alter, son of the Gur Rebbe, expressed satisfaction that the book is now studied worldwide and warmly embraced.
Rabbi Yitzchak Cohen noted that the author has become a significant spiritual presence everywhere the book is studied, bringing great joy to the righteous soul. Rabbi Naftali Nosovim testified to his daily study of the book and emphasized that everyone should engage with it at least weekly, in line with the author's promise of salvation. Additional speeches by Rabbi Chacham Nissim Ben Shimon and Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Zilberberg highlighted the importance of studying the teachings of the honored sage.
Chief Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef appeared at the event, revealing that he regularly studies 'Zera Shimshon' and incorporates its insights into his own work, 'Yalkut Yosef.' Rabbi Moshe Tzadaka, head of the yeshiva, elaborated on the significance of learning from the book, with further remarks from Rabbi Shlomo Buso and Rabbi Avraham Chaim Shatzigel.
This annual gathering underscores the enduring spiritual impact of Rabbi Shimshon HaNehmani's teachings and the widespread devotion to his work across the Jewish world.
