Rabbi Yigal Cohen Expresses Joy Over Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef's Leadership as Chief Rabbi
Rabbi Yigal Cohen, a member of the Chief Rabbinate Council and head of the Yevia Omer institutions, delivered an emotional lecture on Saturday night at the Hizdayim Synagogue in Jerusalem. He spoke warmly about the leadership of Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, the current Chief Rabbi of Israel, known as the Rishon LeZion. Rabbi Cohen described the recent week as a time of great joy and spiritual fulfillment, sharing that he had prayed and taken personal actions to support the realization of their shared dream of Rabbi Yosef leading the community.
He expressed deep gratitude and excitement for being able to sit near Rabbi Yosef, emphasizing that his words came sincerely from the heart rather than as flattery. Rabbi Cohen praised the Chief Rabbi's leadership as a "beautiful crown" filled with Torah and love, which will guide the community until the arrival of the righteous redeemer. He concluded by thanking God for the positive path ahead and humbly stating he was unworthy to speak in the presence of the Chief Rabbi.
