Elkana Federman Launches New Party to Represent Fighters and Youth After October 7 Attacks

Elkana Federman, the security officer at the Nova party during the October 7 attacks, is founding a new political party aimed at representing fighters, reservists, and young people who feel politically homeless. The party has already been registered and plans to run in the upcoming elections. Federman, who helped save partygoers under fire on October 7, told Channel 7 that the party is not merely a protest movement but a serious political endeavor with a clear platform and a goal to win seats in the Knesset.

The party is backed by released hostages, bereaved families, and combatants, and Federman expects it will eventually need to join forces with another political faction. He emphasized that the party’s base comes from communities directly affected by the October 7 events and the ongoing war, including the Nova community, bereaved families, fighters, and reservists.

Federman highlighted a significant gap in political representation for young people who served and fought in recent years, asserting that existing parties have failed to connect with this demographic. He criticized current political leadership, including the Likud list, for lacking genuine change and renewal. Federman decided to enter politics after waiting for new leadership to emerge that could unite these groups but found none.

The party is currently building its candidate list, with only one additional name publicly announced so far: a regional security officer from the Gaza border communities who fought on October 7 and lost comrades. Federman is expected to lead the list but stated he would step aside if a more suitable candidate emerges. He stressed the party’s focus on bringing real frontline experience into politics rather than career military or failed generals.
