Police Name Taxi Driver Suspected of Raping Minor in Kiryat Yam
Police on Monday identified Albert Yismailov, 33, a taxi driver from Kiryat Yam, as the suspect in the rape of a minor in the city. The investigation began after a complaint was filed by one girl.
After Yismailov was arrested, six additional minors also complained against him, and those complaints are being examined as part of the same case. Until now, court proceedings in his case were held behind closed doors.
At the police request, the Kiryat Yam Magistrate’s Court lifted the secrecy order and allowed his name and photo to be published, while keeping the complainants’ identities under gag order. Based on the investigation findings, the court also approved police’s request to extend his detention until Thursday.
