Hundreds of Couples Expected at a North Israel Relationship Retreat for Its 10th Year

Orah Shoshan founded “Awaken Love,” a couples conference that has become an annual tradition for hundreds of couples from across Israel over the past decade. Her goal was to create an event that would highlight the strengths of marriage and give couples tools to nurture a relationship that, in her view, must be actively learned and maintained over a lifetime.

The conference is designed to let couples pause from daily routine, reconnect, and grow together. Organizers say it brings together different “languages of love,” including freedom, security, deeper inner storytelling, and heartfelt connection, while allowing each couple to choose the ideas and topics most relevant to them.

This year’s event, marking its tenth anniversary, will take place on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, at Emek Yizreel College. During the day, participants will hear lectures, join workshops, and meet professionals, leading speakers, and inspirational figures in the fields of relationships and family life. Content tracks will cover topics such as couple communication, friendship and intimacy, trust, coping with shared life challenges, and personal growth within marriage.

The conference is described as combining serious learning with a pleasant, connecting atmosphere, including a festive setting, encounters with other couples, and a break from routine. Participants say it has brought noticeable changes at home, with more tenderness, less automatic behavior, and renewed curiosity about one another. The organizers frame it as a full-day “couples retreat,” dedicated to connection and mutual growth, under the message that sometimes the answer is not to fix everything, but simply to stop and awaken the relationship.
