Israeli-American Partnership Develops Platform to Track True Energy Costs of AI Systems
Israeli company PowerPlug and American firm Cirrus Nexus have collaborated to create a platform that monitors and analyzes energy consumption across organizational computing infrastructures. Supported by the BIRD Energy program, this system integrates data from employee endpoints, internal servers, data centers, and cloud services into a single dashboard displaying electricity use, costs, and carbon emissions.
Unlike existing solutions that focus solely on cloud, data centers, or endpoints, the new platform offers a unified view of the entire computing environment. This enables organizations to attribute energy consumption, expenses, and emissions to specific digital workloads for the first time.
The BIRD Energy initiative promotes joint development of innovative energy technologies between Israeli and U.S. companies and research centers. It is funded by the Israeli Ministry of Energy, the Innovation Authority, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
This collaboration aims to provide companies with comprehensive insights into their energy usage, helping them better understand the true environmental and financial costs of AI and digital operations.
