Ra'am Leader Mansour Abbas Calls for US and Israel to Recognize Palestine
Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Ra'am party, addressed the issue of Palestinian statehood during the party's general assembly on Saturday. He stated that "the world recognizes Palestine, except for the US and Israel." At the same gathering, Ra'am members granted Abbas authority to allocate reserved spots on the party's Knesset list ahead of finalizing potential alliances, including with MK Yoav Segalovich. The party's current Knesset members retained their positions in the primaries. The reported potential alliance with Segalovich, first revealed by Channel 13 News, reflects Ra'am's strategy to include a Jewish candidate on its list to counteract delegitimization efforts against the party. Additionally, Ra'am is considering a name change to appeal more to the Jewish public.
