Pentagon to Host Israel-Lebanon Military Talks Today

The Pentagon is set to host military delegations from Israel and Lebanon today as part of the peace talks between the two countries. The planned round of talks is expected to last eight hours.

The meeting comes amid the latest escalation in Lebanon and after a strike in the Dahieh area. The timing is especially sensitive because of recent events reported by Lebanese outlets involving the Lebanese delegation.

According to Lebanese channels, two nephews of Brig. Gen. Abbas, a senior Lebanese Army officer who is a member of Lebanon’s negotiation delegation, were recently killed in an Israeli strike in Nabatieh. The report says they had left their homes in the village of Mifadoun, south of Nabatieh, before the attack.
