Shiite Cleric Claims Burnt Flesh Smell Lingers Months After Ali Khamenei Attack in Tehran

A Shiite cleric in Iran has claimed that nearly six months after the missile and bomb attack that killed Ali Khamenei's relative, the smell of burnt flesh can still be detected near the Supreme Leader's compound in Tehran. Speaking at a nighttime gathering of Islamic Republic supporters in Tajrish Square, the cleric said he personally verified the lingering odor, describing the attack as far more intense than officially reported.

He alleged that instead of the seven or eight bombs initially disclosed, the compound was struck by approximately 110 missiles and bombs. The attack targeted multiple buildings within the compound, including a religious hall where Ali Khamenei used to deliver speeches and residences of family members.

The cleric recounted that Mojtaba Khamenei, Ali Khamenei's son, had stepped outside the compound minutes before the strike and was returning when the missiles hit. Mojtaba's wife and son were reportedly killed in the attack, while he sustained minor leg injuries. The cleric emphasized the fragility of the Supreme Leader's body but highlighted the severity of the assault on his family’s compound.
