Tamir Shneyder Strongly Criticizes Gilad Erdan Over Divisive Video Against Likud

Tamir Shneyder, a news anchor for Channel 14, sharply attacked Gilad Erdan following a divisive video Erdan posted against the Likud party, which was removed shortly after publication. Shneyder accused Erdan of hypocrisy, saying that although Erdan calls for unity, his video spread a divisive message. He challenged Erdan to "decide what you are," calling the video unworthy even of the most extreme critics of Menachem Begin's legacy.

Shneyder criticized Erdan for recruiting respected figures like Oren Samdaja and Hazi Nahama to his new party, only to categorize them under "this baseness" and incite conflict among right-wing members. He condemned Erdan for accusing the right wing of fostering a civil war while himself promoting division. Shneyder also claimed that reforms could have been passed without fracturing the political landscape, urging Erdan to be ashamed of his actions.

The video in question replaced public signs with names of Knesset members, some unelected in primaries, under the slogan "Begin said there will be no civil war, where are they and where is Begin?" This comes after Erdan announced his departure from Likud about two months ago to form a new right-wing party with Yuli Edelstein. Erdan has stated his party aims to establish a "broad Zionist government," promote a basic law mandating national service for all Israeli citizens, and avoid joining any narrow coalition government. When asked if Netanyahu should remain prime minister, Erdan responded that he does not decide and does not believe his opinion matters.
