Hostages' Families Protest Ron Dermer's Invitation to Florida Conference Over Prisoner Release Opposition

Dozens of families of hostages, former captives, and soldiers serving in Gaza have sent a letter to the Israeli-American Council (IAC) protesting the invitation of former Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer to speak at the organization's annual conference in Florida. The families accuse Dermer of opposing multiple prisoner release deals, which they claim prolonged the suffering of captives held in captivity. They highlight that Dermer rejected deals similar to those that were eventually implemented. The letter states, "Honoring Mr. Dermer on your event stage intensifies the trauma and, in many cases, the mourning we endure." This protest reflects ongoing tensions regarding the handling of hostage negotiations and prisoner exchanges. The IAC has yet to respond publicly to the families' objections.
