Israeli Police Arrest Three Suspects in International Human Trafficking Ring

Israeli police have arrested three men from southern Israel suspected of running an international human trafficking network involving women from Eastern Europe. The suspects, Aleksandr Zinger, 36, his partner Ina Polishchuk, 35, both from Beersheba, and Yaakov Mirmovitz, 42, from Eilat, were detained on suspicion of recruiting women to come to Israel for prostitution. The Haifa Magistrate's Court extended their detention by seven days following a complex investigation led by the Coastal District's Central Unit, which began about nine months ago after a tip from the Israeli Police's Operational Coordination Department.

The investigation involved extensive cooperation between Israeli and international agencies and included undercover agents to expose the gang's activities. Police tracked women who arrived in Israel under the suspects' direction to engage in prostitution. The court, presided over by Judge Amir Salama, held three separate hearings and found reasonable suspicion linking each suspect to the charges. Defense attorneys for the Zinger couple agreed to the extension, while the attorney for Mirmovitz opposed it. The suspects are scheduled to appear before the court again next Wednesday.
