Orphaned Bride Seeks Community Support to Start Her Married Life Amid Hardship
A young bride-to-be, orphaned at just 11 and raised in a home shadowed by illness and loss, is now facing severe financial and emotional hardship as her wedding approaches. Her father, a respected Torah scholar who led a devout household, passed away after a long battle with illness, leaving behind a widow and eight children, including the bride. Since his death, the mother has struggled alone to raise the children without financial support, leading to a dire situation as the eldest daughter prepares to marry.
The bride, who grew up amid scarcity and mourning, finds herself unable to afford even the most basic wedding necessities. She expresses her pain and desperation, saying, "I have no father to support me, and my mother has nothing to give. I am not asking for luxury, just the minimum to start my life." Her plea has been echoed by Rabbi Eliezer Menashe Dont, the family’s spiritual supervisor, who has witnessed their suffering firsthand. He appeals to the community to open their hearts and help the bride enter her marriage with dignity.
Rabbi Dont emphasizes the urgency and personal connection, stating, "She is like my own daughter, and I must ensure she is married properly. I call on all our brothers in Israel to help. Those who assist will be blessed with joy, health, and prosperity." The community has been urged to contribute generously to cover the essential wedding expenses, enabling the bride to celebrate her special day with happiness rather than hardship.
This heartfelt call for assistance highlights the ongoing struggles of families affected by loss and poverty within religious communities, and the vital role of communal support in times of crisis. Donations are being collected to help the bride step into her new life with hope and dignity.
