Israeli Rabbi Launches Fund to Support Families of Children Undergoing Cancer Treatment

A 10-year-old boy named Tzviki, suffering from a malignant brain tumor, recently fainted again while traveling to chemotherapy treatment on the light rail in Jerusalem. His mother, overwhelmed and financially strained, struggles to cover basic needs such as transportation and food for her family. Tzviki’s condition, marked by severe pain and side effects from chemotherapy, highlights the dire situation faced by many families dealing with serious illnesses in Israel.

Rabbi Dov Lando, a prominent religious leader, visited Tzviki’s family and was deeply moved by their hardship. Witnessing the mother’s distress and the family’s financial collapse, Rabbi Lando decided to establish a special charity fund named "Vehesirti Machala Mikirvacha" to provide ongoing support. The fund aims to help families cover essential expenses like food, warm meals for children, and transportation to medical treatments.

The charity requests a monthly donation of 160 shekels, which will directly assist families like Tzviki’s. Rabbi Lando also issued a rare public letter promising spiritual protection and blessings to all donors, assuring them divine safeguarding from illness and hardship in their own homes. He emphasized that every contribution is a vital act of saving lives and urged the public to respond generously.

This initiative represents a significant call to action for the community to support families facing medical crises, offering both practical aid and spiritual reassurance. The fund seeks to alleviate the crushing burden of illness and poverty for thousands of families across Israel.
