Israeli Man Goes Missing in Japan, Police Seek Public Assistance
Israeli police are requesting public help in locating Amir Ambarbar, a 23-year-old from Ramla who has been missing in Japan since August 2, 2026. Ambarbar left Israel on April 20, 2026, and his whereabouts have been unknown since his arrival in Japan. Following family approval, the police released details about his disappearance on Thursday. He is approximately 1.70 meters tall, slim, with brown hair and black eyes. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Israeli police emergency number or the Ramla police station.
This case comes shortly after the police located two missing women from Modiin, Mally (50) and Liat (23), who disappeared while in Vienna during a trip in South America. The women reportedly planned their escape for weeks in Israel, withdrawing 14,000 euros from various ATMs to finance their flight and stay in Europe, aiming to reach a country where they could not be traced. The Israeli police, in cooperation with Europol and other international law enforcement agencies, conducted a focused search that successfully found the two women. The police expressed gratitude to all domestic and international partners involved in the search efforts.
