Israeli PM's Office Denies Approval for International Force Entry into Gaza Despite Cabinet Decision
The Israeli Prime Minister's Office stated that the political echelon has not approved the entry of the international force into the Gaza Strip, despite a cabinet decision made on July 26 allowing the launch of a pilot project for restoring basic services in Gaza. The cabinet decision had authorized the Peace Council for Gaza to enter the territory and begin rehabilitation efforts in Rafah. A political source had previously emphasized that approximately 200 members of the international stabilization force would enter Gaza. However, the Prime Minister's Office clarified that Israel insists no reconstruction will occur in Gaza before Hamas is fully disarmed.
