Colombian Winger Alex Castro Joins Hapoel Kfar Shalem in Israel's Liga Leumit
Hapoel Kfar Shalem has signed Colombian winger Alex Castro, a 32-year-old player with extensive experience in South American leagues. Castro, valued at 250,000 euros by Transfermarkt, will strengthen the club's attacking options in the Liga Leumit, Israel's second division.
Castro's career includes over 150 appearances in Colombia's top league, as well as stints in Mexico and Uruguay. Notably, in January 2020, he was transferred to Mexican club Cruz Azul for 1.9 million euros. Last season, he played for Millonarios in Colombia's first division but had limited playing time and left on a free transfer this summer.
The new season in Liga Leumit has already started, but Kfar Shalem is still finalizing its squad, with Castro being a significant addition to their offensive lineup.
