Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and China Welcome U.S.-Iran Deal

Saudi Arabia said it welcomes the agreement expected to be signed this weekend between the United States and Iran, according to the Saudi state news agency. The statement did not add further details about the deal itself.

Kuwait also voiced support for the agreement, saying it would “guarantee freedom of movement in the Strait of Hormuz.” The comment linked the accord to regional maritime security and traffic through one of the world’s most sensitive waterways.

China’s foreign minister separately said, “We hope the agreement will be signed as planned and that all sides will remain committed to dialogue.” His remarks echoed support for the diplomatic process ahead of the anticipated signing.
