Amitt Levi Clashes with Ron Kofman Over Likud Primaries and Party Loyalty
Amitt Levi, who was placed 33rd on the Likud party list, insisted that securing the 19th spot was not a loss, highlighting his achievement of nearly 22,000 votes, the highest ever for a district candidate in Likud primaries. He expressed pride and gratitude towards his voters, describing the primaries as a celebratory and meaningful opportunity to connect with a broad segment of the party base.
However, Levi faced sharp criticism from Ron Kofman during a heated interview on 103FM. Kofman accused Levi and others of betrayal, suggesting they should have realized earlier that party leader Benjamin Netanyahu had sold them out by favoring other candidates like Gideon Sa'ar, who secured four seats and displaced Levi. Kofman mocked Levi’s stance, questioning if he felt betrayed and emphasizing Netanyahu’s paranoia and unreliability.
Levi responded by defending his loyalty to Likud’s core values and principles, denying any personal motivations or factionalism. He acknowledged criticizing Netanyahu when necessary but maintained his commitment to the party’s national and liberal ideals. The exchange highlighted internal tensions within Likud over reserved ministerial slots and the party’s direction ahead of upcoming elections.
