Likud Spokesman Denies Existence of Purge Lists in Party Primaries

Likud spokesman Guy Levy dismissed claims that so-called purge lists influenced the placement of ministers and Knesset members in the party's primaries. Speaking on 103FM on Wednesday, Levy emphasized that the list was primarily chosen by free voters, independent of powerful interest groups like the defense industry. He described the top candidates as high-quality, diverse, experienced, and capable, expressing confidence that this team can secure victory in the upcoming elections.

Regarding candidates expected to receive reserved slots from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Levy said no final decisions have been made. He did not rule out the possibility that former IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi or former Mossad head Yossi Cohen could be included.

Levy also responded to MK Tali Gottlieb's allegations that Netanyahu's associates tried to harm her in the primaries. He stated that the Prime Minister does not interfere with the national list and expressed personal fondness for Gottlieb, noting she will be placed within the top 20 candidates.
