Former Likud Minister Gilad Erdan Praises Netanyahu Amid Party Primaries
Gilad Erdan, former Likud minister, spoke on 103fm radio on Wednesday about the recent Likud party primaries, offering unexpected praise for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Erdan highlighted the significant gap between Netanyahu and his close circle, suggesting the prime minister should consider uniting his supporters, as his current entourage may not represent him well. He noted that while the concept of victory has changed, Netanyahu managed to minimize damage through the primaries.
However, Erdan criticized the lack of new leadership within the Likud list, pointing out that this was evident during and before the primaries. He referenced Tali Gottlieb's remarks about the influential forces within the party today. Additionally, Erdan, who has announced plans to form a new political party, emphasized that he will not join any coalition to reach a 61-seat majority but aims for his party to be the sole force compelling the formation of a unity government.
