Israeli TV Host Korin Gideon Celebrates 34th Birthday with Personal Revelations
Korin Gideon, a well-known Israeli television host famous for shows like "Big Brother," "People," "First Date," and "Bake Off Israel," turns 34 on August 18. Before her rise to prime-time fame, Gideon studied theater, served in the IDF's Galei Tzahal radio station, and earned a law degree. Born in Safed, she grew up in Ra'anana and the Sharon region, and her full first name is Korina, named after her paternal grandmother.
Her father, Amnon Gideon, is a retired IDF lieutenant colonel who received a commendation during the Yom Kippur War and later held senior human resources roles. Korin studied theater at Telma Yelin High School but chose a career in media and hosting. During her military service at Galei Tzahal, she initially worked as a legal affairs reporter but was reassigned to news editing after a disciplinary incident.
Gideon holds a law degree from Tel Aviv University, a path distinct from her television career. Her breakthrough came in 2015 when she replaced Assi Azar as the host of "Big Brother," co-hosting with Erez Tal for two seasons. In 2018, she married businessman Hili Sorotzkin, who comes from a Lithuanian Haredi family; Sorotzkin is related to prominent rabbis including the Pittsburgh Hasidic Rebbe Mordechai Yissachar Ber Leifer.
Their wedding inspired a television documentary titled "My Haredi Wedding," which explored the cultural intersections between Gideon's secular background and Sorotzkin's religious family. The couple has three children, and Gideon often shares aspects of her motherhood and family life with her social media followers.
