Yair Golan Blasts Netanyahu Over Trump-Iran Deal, Says Israel Was Left Out
Yair Golan, chair of The Democrats and a former deputy IDF chief of staff, launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday morning after reports of a dramatic agreement between the Trump administration and Iran. Calling it a “hard morning for Israel,” Golan said Netanyahu failed to stop the White House move and was fully responsible for Israel being sidelined.
“Trump signs, Netanyahu stands by,” Golan said, arguing that the economic and security deal was struck over Israel’s head and completely sacrificed Israeli security interests. He said Israelis woke up to an agreement between the United States and Iran that ignored Israel, and claimed that “with one stroke of a pen” major military achievements had been erased, while Netanyahu remained “weak, sick, isolated and without influence.”
Golan also attacked the substance of the deal, saying Trump was handing billions of dollars to the Iranian regime, leaving nuclear infrastructure intact, preserving the ballistic missile threat, and giving “a lifeline” to Tehran’s leadership. He framed the agreement as proof of a long strategic failure under Netanyahu, tying it to policy toward Gaza and the northern front.
“This is the summary of many long years of failure,” he said, accusing Netanyahu of selling the public the image of “Mr. Security” while creating the biggest strategic failure in Israel’s history. Golan said Netanyahu had built the idea that “Hamas is an asset,” enabled Qatari money transfers, abandoned the diplomatic arena, broke Israel’s alliances, and left the country isolated at a critical moment. He concluded that replacing Netanyahu is not only a political need, but an essential security necessity.
