Several Prominent Likud Members Left Off Party List After Primaries
The final results of the Likud party primaries have left several well-known members excluded from the list for the upcoming Knesset elections. Notable figures such as Avi Dichter, May Golan, Idit Silman, Keti Shitrit, Eli Dellal, Osher Shkali, Ariel Kallner, Nissim Vaturi, Hanoch Milwidsky, and Hava Eti Atiya did not secure a spot on the list. Many of these individuals have been prominent faces in the party and Israeli media in recent years.
Despite expectations of public reactions or criticism directed at party members who voted, most of those excluded have remained silent so far. The only exception is Hanoch Milwidsky, who posted a personal message accepting the results with grace, stating, "Democracy is democracy, even when the results are less favorable. I want to wish great success to the team chosen by Likud members. Big tasks and challenges lie ahead."
Additionally, a statement was released on behalf of Osher Shkali by his office, emphasizing that one evening’s results do not erase years of work or vision. The message highlighted that true influence is measured by the discourse created, not just numerical outcomes, and that a loss can be the start of an even more meaningful journey.
The primaries have reshaped the Likud list, signaling a new political reality for some veteran members. The party now prepares for the 2026 elections with a refreshed lineup, while those left out appear to be processing the outcome quietly.
