Maccabi Haifa Beats Hapoel Be'er Sheva 4-2 in Youth Premier League Opener
The Youth Premier League's first round continued on Monday with three exciting matches. Maccabi Haifa defeated Hapoel Be'er Sheva 4-2 in a high-scoring game. Noam Israel gave Haifa the lead in the 12th minute, but Liam Shugar equalized for Be'er Sheva a minute later. Noam Goldenberg scored Haifa's second goal in the 62nd minute, followed by Liam Luski's goal in the 71st minute. Tomer Shimony reduced the deficit for Be'er Sheva in the 92nd minute, but Younes Adna sealed the win for Haifa with his first youth team goal, making it 4-2.
In another match, defending champions Maccabi Tel Aviv edged out newly promoted Hapoel Jerusalem 1-0 thanks to a goal by Ido Yosef in the 53rd minute. Yosef, who replaced Itay Zafrani, had an impressive previous season with 34 goals in the U-16 category and handed Hapoel Jerusalem their first loss of the season.
