Lynn Moore, Mother of Right-Wing Activist Yoav Eliasi, Condemns Hatred After His Police Dismissal
Lynn Moore, mother of Yoav Eliasi, known as "HaTzel," broke her silence following his official dismissal from the Israeli police. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she expressed disgust at the public's hateful reactions, including celebrations of his downfall and insults directed at him. Moore emphasized that while political disagreements are acceptable, the hatred and vilification Eliasi faces are unwarranted and deeply hurtful.
Moore recounted Eliasi's dedication over the past three years, highlighting how he devoted himself entirely to serving the Israeli public. She described how, immediately after the October 7 attacks, Eliasi gathered equipment and went to support fighters amid ongoing threats and rocket fire. He later volunteered for the police, sacrificing family time and career opportunities to participate in numerous night operations and training sessions, often risking his life without any financial compensation or desire for recognition.
She stressed that Eliasi’s actions were driven by genuine care for the country and its people, regardless of political views. Moore criticized the media storm and public backlash following his dismissal, which came after an investigation by the Police Investigations Department. Despite the controversy, she noted that Eliasi receives significant support and love from many in the public.
Moore concluded by affirming that courage, dedication, and volunteering deserve respect, regardless of political differences. Eliasi was officially dismissed from his role as a commander of a readiness unit in the Tel Aviv district after a hearing related to the investigation. His lawyer called the decision "wrong," underscoring ongoing disputes over the case.
